Men's Basketball: Marks, Raiders fall to Emmanuel, 94-73

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team dropped a 94-73 decision this afternoon to visiting Emmanuel College in a non-conference matchup between the two Great Northeast Athletic Conference schools. The Raiders fall to 1-6 on the season while the Saints climb above .500 at 4-3.

Junior Nate Hale (Nashua, N.H.) shot 8-for-14 from the floor to finish with 19 as he led the team offensively. Senior Isaiah Marks (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in with 15 points along with junior Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.). Sophomore Tarik Rivers (Stamford, Conn.) totaled 14 points as Rivier had four student-athletes reach double figures in the loss.

Emmanuel saw three student-athletes finish with double-digit afternoons as senior Joe Tamburro (South Windsor, Conn.) led the charge with 31 on 10-of-15 shooting. Junior Emmett Riddick (Middletown, Conn.) and sophomore Marcus Fox (Danbury, Conn.) were the other two Saints to record double-digits as they totaled 18 and 14, respectively. Senior Isaiah Ruffen (Haverhill, Mass.) pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with his 4 points in the win.

Rivier will look to rebound in their next scheduled contest on Tuesday evening as they host the University of Maine-Presque Isle for a 5pm start. Emmanuel will also return to action on Tuesday night as they host Newbury College with a 7pm start time.
