Men's Basketball: Raiders drop one to Anna Maria

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team wrapped the home slate of the season this evening with a 99-70 loss to visiting Anna Maria College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. Rivier is now 2-21 overall on the season with a 1-13 conference mark while the AMCATS improve to 8-15, 5-9 in the conference.

Freshman Tarik Rivers (Stamford, Conn.) led the way for the Raiders as he netted a game-high 23 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor. Sophomore Tristian Givens (Windsor, Conn.) dropped 15 points and classmate Kirk Palladino (Merrimack, N.H.) added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds to round out the double-digit scorers for Rivier.

For the AMCATS, sophomore Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.) registered a double-double with 21 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Senior Kenneth Graham (West Haven, Conn.) and junior Sidney Limage (Randolph, Mass.) each scored 17 points with Graham collecting eight rebounds. Every AMCAT who would enter the game finished with at least two points.

Rivier will close out the season with a pair of road contests beginning next Tuesday night at Suffolk University. Anna Maria, meanwhile, will finish the season at home with a two games beginning on Tuesday with a 6pm date against Mount Ida College.
