Men's Basketball: Rivier falls at home to Norwich, 101-59

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon to visiting Norwich University, 101-59 inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss moves the Raiders' overall record to 1-16 (0-8 GNAC) while the Cadets inch closer to .500 at 6-8, 3-2 GNAC.

Freshman Glenn Jones (Norwalk, Conn.) paced the Raider offense as he led the team with 16 points and sophomore Joshua L'Heureux (Dracut, Mass.) added 10 points. Sophomore Tristian Givens (Windsor, Conn.) pulled down seven rebounds and netted eight points.

After a pair of successful free throws, Norwich senior Mike Hogervorst (Leiden, South Holland) recorded his 1,000th career point. He finished the afternoon with nine points and four rebounds. Leading the way for the Cadets was senior Joe Bertrand (Everett, Mass.) who pumped in 10-of-13 from the floor, including 4-for-5 from beyond the arc, to finish with a game-high 27 points off the bench. Classmate Ryan Booth (Northfield, Vt.) added 15 points with freshman Kyle Booth (Northfield, Vt.) chipping in with 13.

Both squads will return to the floor on Tuesday evening as they prepare for another conference clash. Rivier will travel to Mount Ida College for a 6pm tipoff while the Cadets host Suffolk University at 5:30pm.
