Men's Basketball: Raiders suffer 91-79 loss to Unity

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team dropped their third straight contest this afternoon in the closing game of the 2017 Rivier Tip-Off Classic inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders are now 0-3 to start the season while the Rams improve to 2-4.

Sophomore Keith Poitier (East Hartford, Conn.) led the way offensively for the Raiders as he had 14 points and classmate Joshua O'Loughlin (Milford, N.H.) also had a solid afternoon as he totaled 11 points and 4 rebounds. Freshman Tyler Bradense (Billerica, Mass.) was outstanding defensively as he blocked six shots and collected 10 rebounds while sophomore Kirk Palladino (Milford, N.H.) added 11 points off the bench.

Unity saw four student-athletes reach double-digits in points scored while two of them registered double-doubles. Junior Hunter Engel (Cooperstown, N.D.) and senior Ben Denoncour (Georgetown, Mass.) were the ones who registered the double-double with Engel leading the way at 27 points & 10 rebounds. Denoncour had 25 points, 11 rebounds and junioe Dan Suehiro (Pearl City, Hawaii) chipped in with 18 points. Sophomore Conor Henry (Newburyport, Mass.) was one board shy of his own double-double as he totaled 10 points and 9 rebounds in the win.

Rivier will have a day of rest before traveling to Henniker, N.H. for their annual battle with New England College. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm.
