Men's Basketball: Men's Hoops opens at annual Boys & Girls Club Classic

(Concord, N.H.) The 2017-2018 Rivier Men's Basketball season has officially gotten underway this evening as the Raiders traveled to New Hampshire Technical Institute for the annual Boys & Girls Club Classic against Plymouth State. In the end, the Panthers were too much to handle as they eventually defeated Rivier, 87-69 in the opener for both schools.

Junior Angel Perez (Miami, Fla.) was the leading scorer for Rivier as he shot 62.5% from the floor to finish with 15 points. Sophomore Joshua L'Heureux (Dracut, Mass.) has a solid first night as he had 12 points and four rebounds. Both sophomore Keith Poitier (East Hartford, Conn.) and freshman Tyler Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) totaled 10 points each while freshman Ian Wade (Windsor Locks, Conn. ) pulled down the team-high seven rebounds.

Plymouth State was guided by sophomore Jaylen Leroy (Manchester, N.H.) and junior Liam Densmore (Portland, Maine) as the pair combined for 50 points scored and twelve three-pointers made. Leroy was the leader with 30 points while Densmore collected 20. Senior Kieran Beck (Danvers, Mass.) was a force in the paint as he scooped up 13 rebounds while junior Mike Osgood (Nashua, N.H.) finished with 16 points.

The Raiders will return to action on Friday night as they welcome Lesley University to the Muldoon Gymnasium to jump start the "Rivier Tip-Off Classic". Game time is set for 7pm.
