WINTHROP, MASS. – It was announced earlier today that Rivier University freshman Hunter Langley (Londonderry, N.H.) has been selected as a member of the 2019 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Field Hockey All-Conference second team. She becomes the first Raider to receive post-season conference honors since 2014.

Langley enjoyed a stellar rookie season for Rivier. Appearing in 15 of the team's 16 games in 2019, she finished second on the team with seven goals scored and assisting on two goals for a total of 26 points. Langley converted on 50% of her shots which ranked #1 for the Raiders.

She recorded her first collegiate goal in the team's 7-0 win over Dean College on September 26th and had a three game stretch in which she scored one goal. In the team's impressive 4-1 win over Lasell University on October 26th, Langley scored the eventual game-winner on her way to finishing that contest with two goals scored and an assist. She was named the GNAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week on September 30th.

Rivier finished the 2019 campaign with an overall record of 6-10 and a 3-5 mark against conference play. They finished just outside of the playoff picture with an opportunity to sneak in vanishing on the season's final day. The six wins match the program record for the Raider Field Hockey team which was set in 2011 and matched in 2014. The three conference wins is the most in program history and their wins over both Simmons University and Lasell are also program firsts.
