Field Hockey: Seniors close out careers with 10-0 win over Albertus Magnus

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Field Hockey team closed out their 2018 campaign with a convincing 10-0 win over visiting Albertus Magnus College under the lights at a damp, cold Raider Field. The win rounds out the Raiders overall record at 3-12 while the Falcons finish at 0-12.

Rivier exploded for seven first half goals led by the senior trio of Linsey Roth (Tyngsboro, Mass.), Mikayla Ramsdell (Salem, N.H.) and Emily Foster (West Lebanon, N.H.). Roth netted her second hat-trick of the season while Ramsdell scored twice and Foster registered her first career goal as the Raiders built a 7-0 lead at halftime. Sophomore Megan Antun (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored the final and seventh goal of the half for Rivier.

In the final 35 minutes, the Raiders added three more goals as freshman Felicity Defosses (Franklin, N.H.) and Jade Marden (Laconia, N.H.) each knocked home their first collegiate goals and Foster finished the scoring with her final goal of her career in the 57th minute.

Freshman Katie Olsen (Saugus, Mass.) picked up her first career shutout as she stopped both shots the Falcons took on net. Freshman goalie Kasey Herrera (Stratford, Conn.) made an incredible 16 saves in the loss for Albertus.

This marks the final game in the careers of Roth, Ramsdell and Foster. Roth played in 63 games over her four year career, compiling 24 goals, 6 assists for a total of 54 points. Ramsdell finished with five goals, five assists for 15 points in 61 games while Foster made 370 saves during her 54 game career in Raider Blue & White.
