Field Hockey: Maegan Sheehy named GNAC Rookie of the Week

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced earlier today that Rivier University freshman Maegan Sheehy (Sabattus, Maine) has been selected as the Field Hockey Rookie of the Week. This is the first such honor for the Raider Field Hockey program this season and the first of Sheehy's career.

The rookie forward tallied three goals for six points in a 1-1 week for Rivier. She scored two goals in the team's 5-3 win over Elms last Thursday night and then added another goal in the tough 3-2 double-overtime loss at Colby-Sawyer on Saturday afternoon.

Sheehy and the Raiders will return to action on Thursday night when they host Framingham State University at 7pm.
