Field Hockey: Raiders stumble at Colby-Sawyer

(New London, N.H.) In the final meeting as non-conference opponents, the Rivier University Field Hockey team fell to Colby-Sawyer College this afternoon, 5-0. Rivier is now 1-7 on the year while the Chargers, who will be joining the Great Northeast Athletic Conference next fall, are now 6-3 on the season.

Junior Erica Royle (Kingston, Mass.) got the start in net for Rivier and she suffered the loss after allowing just two goals on eight shots (six saves). Classmate Emily Foster (West Lebanon, N.H.) entered for the second half and made seven saves on ten shots.

CSC's Jordan Teixeira scored two first half goals to lead the Chargers. Abby Ladd was awarded the win in net to improve to 6-3 on the season.

Next up for the Raiders will be GNAC contest at Regis College on Saturday afternoon.
