Field Hockey: Ramsdell's goal lifts Raiders past Bay Path

(Nashua, N.H.) On a windy, rainy night in Nashua, the Rivier University Field Hockey team earned a 1-0 victory over visiting Bay Path University up at Raider Field. The win evens the Raiders' overall record at 1-1 while the Wildcats fall to 0-3 on the young season.

Junior Mikayla Ramsdell (Salem, N.H.) scored the lone Raider goal as she was able to knock home a loose ball in front of the Wildcat cage in the 23rd minute. Junior Emily Foster (Lebanon, N.H.) was credited with the win as the defensive effort in front of her did not allow Bay Path to get a shot all night.

Wildcat senior goalkeeper Bethany Rogers (Plymouth, Mass.) was impressive as she stopped six of seven shots she faced over the 70 minutes of action.

Rivier will return to the field tomorrow night as they travel to Portland, Maine for their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest of the season against Saint Joseph's College. Bay Path, meanwhile, will host Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon.
