Baseball: Ferdinand named 2nd Team All-Conference Infielder

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced earlier today their annual All-Conference Baseball teams. Rivier University senior Tyler Ferdinand (Middleboro, Mass.) was honored as he was tabbed an All-Conference Second Team Infielder. This is the third consecutive season that Ferdinand was selected to one of the All-Conference teams.

The veteran shortstop finished his Raider career appearing in 31 of the team's 32 games while collecting a team-high 39 hits. He batted .368 overall with 26 runs scored, 8 doubles, a triple and his first two career home runs. Ferdinand slugged at a .519 clip and recorded an on-base percentage of .442 while swiping 14 bases and knocking in 20 RBI.

He also set the program record for career hits with his first collegiate home run back on April 18th at Clark University. He wraps up his three years in Nashua with 134 hits, a .383 batting average and 42 RBI. Ferdinand also set the career record with 57 stolen bases and 79 runs scored.

In 2017, Ferdinand was selected the All-Conference Second Team as a Utility player and in 2016 was placed on the All-Conference Second Team as an infielder.
