Rick Rowsell was promoted to Director of Sports Medicine in August 2023 after serving as an athletic trainer on staff for the previous two seasons.

Prior to his arrival in Nashua, Rowsell, a nationally certified athletic trainer, served as the head athletic trainer for Dracut High School through Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital where he also worked in a physical therapy clinic. While at Merrimack he worked with Division I football as well as men’s and women’s tennis on campus. Rowsell is CPR and AED certified with a current certification for therapeutic cupping techniques.

Rowsell graduated from Merrimack in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training before returning to his alma mater to earn a master’s in Exercise and Sports Science in 2021.
