Dunster, Jagtap named Student-Athletes of the Month

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier University Athletic Department is pleased to announce that senior Taylor Dunster of the Women's Volleyball team has been selected Rivier Female Student-Athlete of the Month and Yash Jagtap of the Men's Cross Country team has been named Rivier Male Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of October 2019. 

Dunster recorded an astounding 137 kills on the attack while scooping up 135 digs on defense in October. She was also named Player of the Week for week 4 of the GNAC Weekly Report. That week Dunster averaged 3.60 kills and 5.20 digs per set in a 3-0 week to go with a .310 hitting percentage. In a 3-1 win over Eastern Nazarene, she went off for 16 kills and 26 digs. She posted triple-doubles in all three victories and also chipped in with 0.40 aces and 0.40 blocks per set for the Raiders.

The veteran from Sutton, Massachusetts closed out the month recording her 1000th dig on October 29th against Regis College, in 3-0 sweep. The #3 Raiders are set to face Emmanuel College and Albertus Magnus College tomorrow. The double header starts at 11AM and 3PM in the Muldoon Fitness Center.

Jagtap, a native of North Andover, Massachusetts led the way for the Men's Cross Country team on October 5th at the Keene State Invitational.  He finished with a time of 31:54.0 in the 8k event. The effort was good for a 146th finish and a 103rd place as he was the first Raider to cross the line.

Two weeks later at the Suffolk Invitational the veteran and his teammates finished with 723 points as a team for a 24th place finish. He crossed the line at 32:04.2 good for 118th overall.
