Male Student-Athlete of the Month: Yash Jagtap | Men's Cross Country

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Department of Athletics is proud to announce that senior Yash Jagtap (North Andover, Mass.) has been selected as the Male Student-Athlete of the Month for October 2019.

An integral part of the Men's team, Jagtap led the way at the Keene State Invitational on October 5th. In one of the most competitive races for the Raiders this season, he finished with a time of 31:54.0 in the 8k event, clocking one of his most impressive times while running at Rivier. The effort was good for a 146th finish, top 30 among GNAC runners, and he was the first Raider to cross the line.

Two weeks later at the Suffolk Invitational, the veteran and his teammates finished with 723 points as a team for a 24th place finish. Here, he attacked the iconic Franklin Park course with extreme precision, hitting the first three mile marks ahead of pace and closed the race with a 5:50 last mile, his fastest last mile of his career. He crossed the line at 32:04.2 good for 118th overall.

The Raiders close out their season tomorrow in Standish, Maine as Saint Joseph College will host the GNAC Championship.
