Macken, Jagtap named Student-Athletes of the Month

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Department of Athletics is proud to announce that senior Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and junior Yash Jagtop (North Andover, Mass.) have been selected as the Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Month for October 2018.

Junior Cross Country Runner Yash Jagtap had an exceptional month. On October 6th, Jagtap finished the 8k in 33:31 at St. Joseph’s “Runnin' Monks Invitational”. Less than a week later traveled down to the “Suffolk University Invitational” and finished the race in 32:54, shaving over a minute off of his previous 8K. Jagtap has finished 1st in every event for the Raiders thus far and is currently among the top 55 runners in the GNAC.

The Rivier University Raiders only conceded 1 loss in the month of October. That is not without thanks to Senior Hayley Macken, who recorded an astounding 43 kills and 333 assists on the attack while scooping up 92 digs on defense in October. Last month the senior setter was also named to the Kean Invitational All-Tournament Team and was named GNAC “Player of the Week” in week 2 of the season. The #2 Raiders are set to face #7 Emmanuel College tonight at the Muldoon Fitness Center at 7pm for the GNAC Quarterfinal.
